New blankets are usually soft, lofty, fluffy, flexible, and warm. It is desirable to have them retain these characteristics during use. Changes in the characteristics of blankets during use are probably attributable mainly to the effect of laundering or dry cleaning. Blankets are something that can calm a person, give comfort and warmth, and just make you feel special. I know I have blankets at home that I treasure for one or all of those reasons.
